"Never trust a DJ who does not dance!" 

DJ’s Mengel & Berg are classical music deejays. They think it's pretty sexy and they tell all their friends that Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Mahler, Stravinsky, Prokofiev and many other musical magicians are not dead. On the contrary, they get us all shaking that ***

Their name is derived from Willem Mengelberg, the man who conducted the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra for 50 years. It was this deejay duo’s ambition to have their Concertgebouw debut within one year of starting their adventure, a stunt they actually managed to pull off. Thank you Mr Mengelberg! By now, they have performed in all major venues of Amsterdam and are happy to launch their international career, starting in Sao Paulo.  

MENGEL is Brendan Jan Walsh. He calls himself a classical music mutineer. Born in England, bred in Belgium, trained throughout Europe and living in Amsterdam... so origin? European. He claims to have no job, but lots of work as a cellist, conductor, DJ, producer, consultant, lecturer, presenter and future theatre owner.

BERG is Arthur Gumbs. He was introduced to classical music at an early age due to hanging out with a 'bad crowd', as he himself puts it. For years he was the face of the renowned classical music department at the Amsterdam Virgin Megastore. He admits to dancing to classical music, frequently.

Isis, formally known as 100% Isis, is one of the female pioneers in the global electronic music scene. 

She is most interested in exploring vulnerability and humanity in music. Her style is marked both by melodic and acoustic influences, but not bound by a singular approach – her music is idiosyncratic, emotional and versatile. 

In 2010 she was appointed as  ‘Nachtburgermeester van Amsterdam’ (Nightlife Ambassador of Amsterdam), and served as such for its 2-year term. Her function was to monitor the nightlife of Amsterdam and to build bridges between local politicians, entrepreneurs, artists and their audience.

We were very VERY honoured to have her at the world's first edition of the Classical Music Rave and we of course hope that she will be back to spin the classical music world around on her decks!

DJ Fant (de Kanter) is composer and DJ. 

If it's a weird piece of music, he'll know it! 
Former promoter, now concert programmer in Tilburg, Gert Gering always surprises all of us with his exquisitely extravagant collection of vinyl records. As you might expect from somebody who calls himself DJ Bacterie, this man is full of surprises and we love to hear them!

DJ Nwando is also known as Lady Vendredi. Whether she sings, dj's, produces or just hangs around... whatever she does has an amazingly hot cool about it. She works with Gabriel Prokofiev for NonClassical and pops up in rather wicked videos every now and then.

DJ René Thie had the closing dj-set at the first ever classical music rave. He managed to build a mix of minimal, classical and a touch of electronic. We can't wait for him to return!
